SmallBizSecurityTips is an independent guide to breach and leaked-credential monitoring for small businesses. We exist because the honest, primary-source answer to “do I need this and what does it cost?” is buried under vendor demos and “call us” pricing. Every page here leads with the direct answer, cites the primary source (CISA, FTC, NIST, or a vendor’s own documentation), and shows real numbers.
How we compare tools
- Prices are verified. We quote each vendor’s own published pricing and date it. Where a vendor doesn’t publish a price, we say “no public price” rather than guess.
- Primary sources over opinion. Claims about credentials, MFA and breaches link to CISA, FTC, NIST or the vendor’s docs so you can check them.
- We flag impossible claims. No tool can remove your data from the dark web; we’ll always say so.
- We link out more than we link in. There are more links to primary sources on these pages than to any product.
Our editorial standard
We publish informational guidance, not legal or security advice, and we don’t claim professional human review or certification. Where we’re uncertain, we describe qualitatively instead of inventing a statistic. If you find something out of date or wrong, the fix is to check it against the linked primary source, that’s exactly why the links are there.
